In 2022, the MK5K® is celebrating its eighteenth-straight year as an annual fundraising event for the Mary Kay Ash Foundation.
This year, we are excited to offer options for both an in-person event at The Mary Kay Building, as well as a virtual challenge for supporters outside the North Texas area.

For almost 20 years, we have been painting the town pink – all to support the Mary Kay Ash Foundation’s two-fold mission of funding research to cure cancers affecting women and ending domestic violence against women. MK5K® My Way (Virtual Challenge)
The concept is simple: MK5K® My Way allows you to participate on your own terms. Register for our virtual challenge and complete it at your own pace. There’s something for everyone – you can walk, run, bike, swim or even maintain your daily step count! Track your distance using the RaceJoy app and complete the challenge in 1 day or 13 days, it’s up to you! Go solo, create a team, do a pledge drive – you get to decide how to support the Mary Kay Ash Foundation and help us raise money to eliminate domestic violence and end cancers affecting women.
CHALLENGE: Complete 13 miles in 13 days
DATE: Saturday, October 1st – Thursday, October 13th, 2022
The MK5K® My Way virtual challenge can be completed in the timeframe that suits you, within the 13 days, either individually or in teams. On your challenge day (or days), we encourage you to wear your MK5K® swag and post a photo on social media, along with a description of how you completed the challenge and how far you went. IN-PERSON EVENT
Yes! After 2 years of entirely virtual events, the Foundation is so excited to return to an in-person event for this year’s MK5K. The 18th Annual MK5K & One-Mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, October 1st at The Mary Kay Building in Addison, TX.
Yes! If you registered for the in-person 5k race, you are eligible to receive an exclusive 2022 MK5K® participant t-shirt*. Participants registered for the One-Mile Fun Run will not receive a t-shirt.
*First 5,000 participants (in-person 5k and virtual challenge) to register are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt, while sizes last. In-person participants will be able to pick up your items at The Mary Kay Building on the dates below. Anyone that doesn’t make it on those days will be able to pick up on race day.

Yes! Dogs are more than welcome to attend on race day. In fact, we will have a designated doggy area for our furry friends complete with toys, cold water, and yummy treats!
Of course! Friends and family are welcome to cheer along the course.
Yes! Just let people know they can track you in RaceJoy for the 18th Annual MK5K. After downloading the app, they can search for you by name or bib number and add you to their participant list. Those tracking you will automatically receive progress updates as you cross milestones along the course.
Participants being tracked need to make sure they come to the race with a fully charged phone and click Start My Race as they cross the start line. RaceJoy will automatically detect when crossing the finish line. Go to Buzz after the race to review progress alerts and cheers.
VIRTUAL CHALLENGE

In honor of Mary Kay Ash’s love for the number 13, we are challenging you to complete 13 miles in 13 days!
Our virtual challenge begins on Saturday, October 1st and ends on Thursday, October 13th, 2022. The challenge can be completed in the timeframe that suits you, within the 13 days, either individually or in teams.
Only in-person/officially timed participants are eligible to win overall and age group awards/prizes. Because the activity tracking is based on the honor system, we will not be recognizing virtual participants for their distance or time.
Virtual participants will have the ability to track their progress using the RaceJoy app, if desired. In late September, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download and use the app to track your progress. While we certainly encourage you to track your progress with RaceJoy, it is not required.
Yes! Participants registered for the MK5K® My Way virtual challenge are eligible to receive a special collectible 2022 MK5K® participant t-shirt*. Virtual participants will be mailed their t-shirts, along with any other swag items that you order.
